WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO In 1934 senior age members at Columbia-Edgewater
Country Club, Riverside Golf and Country Club and Portland Golf
Club banded together to form an organization known as the Oregon
Senior Golfers Association. In 1955 the Junior-Senior Golfers
Association of Oregon was formed and was patterned after the older
senior association. Clubs welcomed these new associations because
of the cash flow they represented and the good will and camaraderie
they brought with them. Today, the three organizing Country Clubs
are joined by the following Country Clubs:Â Astoria, Bend, Corvallis,
Illahe Hills, Juniper, Michelbook, Oswego Lake, Royal Oaks, Spring
Hill, The Reserve, Tualatin, Waverley and Willamette Valley. All of the events are rotated among the clubs to facilitate rotation throughout the 16 participating clubs. Today, the two associations provide the 400 members some great golf, good fellowship, good food and always a good time. There are two groups defined by age - Jr/Sr and Seniors. The two groups are divided into two groups, again by age. They are Jr/Sr Ages 42-65 -Jr/Sr 1A (age 42-60) and Jr/Sr 2A (age 61-65). The Senior group age 66 and older are Senior 1A (age 66-71) and Senior 2A (age 72 and older). The groups will play seven (7) one day events at our member clubs and the group with the Central Oregon swing schedule will have an additional (8th) day of golf. The price for membership is $325. Continental breakfast and lunch is provided at each event. The Seniors and Junior Seniors is limited to 400 members.
